University of Iowa Winter Sports FAQ

Iowa Athletics wants to ensure a seamless experience with the Hawkeye Fan Cutouts Program. If you still have questions after reviewing the information, please reach out to support@fancutouts.com.

Are the Hawkeye Fan Cutouts refundable should I change my mind?
No – all sales of Hawkeye Fan Cutouts are final.

Can I place more than one order for Hawkeye Fan Cutouts?
Yes! You may place more than one order for a Hawkeye Fan Cutout. If you would like to order multiple cutouts and have them all be placed in the arena together, we recommend that you order them at the same time. However, you can place multiple separate orders, but we cannot guarantee that these orders will be placed together.

How many cutouts can I purchase on one single transaction?
You may purchase up to four cutouts per transaction. After that, you will need to place an additional, separate order.

Can the photo I submit be of my pet instead of myself?
Yes! Pets are welcomed. Please make sure your pet’s photo still adheres to our photo submission guidelines.

Can there be multiple people within one image on a Hawkeye Fan Cutout?
No, only one fan per cutout.

How will I know if my photo has been approved?
If your photo has not been approved, fancutouts.com customer service will also notify you of this by email and ask for a resubmission.

If I decide I don’t like the photo I submitted, can I send in a new one?
No; please ensure that the photo you upload not only meets all of our guidelines, but that it is also the photo you will be happy with all season long. The only instance that you will be able to resubmit a photo is if we reach out to you directly due to issues with your initial submission.

What happens if my photo is not approved?
Fancutouts.com customer service will notify you directly by email and ask for a resubmission.

Is there an order deadline?
No. Fan cutouts can be order for placement in Carver-Hawkeye Arena at anytime throughout our winter sports season. We receive regular shipments of cutouts and will place inside the arena as soon as we receive your cutout.

Can I choose the location of my cutout in Carver-Hawkeye Arena?
No. Iowa Athletics reserves the right to determine exact placement of each cutout inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena and will not be able to accommodate special requests. Seat location will be chosen at random. Website photos of the fan cutouts will be located at Hawkeyesports.com/Fancutouts. We cannot guarantee that all cutouts will be visible in these photos but will do our best to capture them as best we can.

How will I know the location of my Fan Cutout inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena?

Can Iowa Athletics send me a picture of my Fan Cutout up-close once it is placed?
No. Iowa Athletics is unable to accommodate special requests for photos of cutouts in the stands due to large demand for this request. Website photos of the fan cutouts will be located at Hawkeyesports.com/Fancutouts. We cannot guarantee that all cutouts will be visible in these photos but will do our best to capture them as best we can.

Will I see my Hawkeye Fan Cutout on TV?
Iowa Athletics hopes that each of the fans that purchase a Fan Cutout do get a chance to spot their cutout on TV. However, fan cutouts are not guaranteed to be visible to those viewing games at the stadium via television and/or other media.

How long will the Hawkeye Fan Cutouts remain in place inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena?
Cutouts will remain in Carver-Hawkeye Arena for the duration of the 2020-21 winter sports season. In the event we can allow limited fans to attend games we will make every effort to accommodate the cutouts but may have to remove them based on seat availability.

What if the season gets delayed or cancelled?
All payments made to purchase a Hawkeye Fan Cutout are final and in no event shall such payments be refunded for any reason, including but not limited to the delay, suspension or early termination of the 2020-21 Season.

What happens if my Hawkeye Fan Cutout is damaged by extraneous circumstances?
Iowa Athletics is not responsible for any lost or damaged Fan Cutout(s), and any lost or damaged Fan Cutout(s) will not be replaced.

What will happen to my Hawkeye Fan Cutout at the end of the season?
We cannot guarantee that fans will be able to retain their cutout after the season is over. If we are able to hold a COVID-19 responsible pick up at Carver-Hawkeye Arena by July 1, 2021, we will offer fans the opportunity to secure their cutout. We cannot guarantee the condition of your fan cutout due to extraneous circumstances.

I purchased the Coaches autograph package, when will I receive my signed cutout?
Autographed cutouts will be mailed to recipients by July 1, 2021.

Is the purchase of Fan Cutouts tax deductible?
You are encouraged to consult your own tax advisor for applicability of the IRS regulations.

Where do the additional donations and proceeds from the Hawkeye Fan Cutout purchases go to?
20% of the proceeds for each Hawkeye Fan Cutout purchased will go directly to Iowa Dance Marathon. The remaining proceeds will go to support the needs of all of our Hawkeye student-athletes.
